I have seen several posts regarding recording DVDs with RecordNow DX and I have tried most of the suggestions, but I am still getting a Disc Write Error near the end of my recording. I have a Sony DVDRW DRU-510A and I recently updated my pxengine and I downloaded the 510A update 1.1A. I deleted the DLA program as well.
My program was working fine and I burned several DVD's that were shrunk by DVDShrink. Then one day, this error started occurring which said my job terminated with errors. Error 10 at Sector XXXXXX Disc Write Error.... I had burned dozens of movies with no problems, but now I can't get the program to work. I am not sure what the change was, but it is too late to do a System Restore.
I have tried burning several different DVD's and some from files that successfully burned DVD's in the past. Also, I was able to burn a DVD I created from MYDVD so it does not seem that the hardware is failing.
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the RecordNow software several times. I have tried to update the software, but the program is unable to locate the network.
One other thing - when I insert the burned DVD into my DVD player, the movie plays up until a certain point and then freezes (probably the point at which the error occurred). It generally occurs in the last few minutes of a burned movie, but the last time I tried it, the error occurred at about 65% of recording time.
I am about ready to give up on RecordNow and buy Nero, but I want to make sure it is a software problem and not some other type of problem. My collection of coasters is growing and multiplying quickly.
Any other suggestions?

Just a couple other things to think about ... (1) Might be a silly question, but are you sure it's not the media? Did you start a new pack or something? I've used RecordNow for a couple hundred successful burns in the past couple of months and the only problems I've ever had (i.e. coasters!) have been media-related. (2) Have these problems only occurred since downloading the 510a update 1.1a?
Keep us posted -- hopefully others will have suggestions too.

Thanks for the response. The errors started before I made any changes to the program or driver. I did not start a new pack of DVD's, but was near the end of my 50 pack of Memorex DVD-R's. I was the same as you Karen, where I had dozens of successful burns and then all of a sudden this error occurred.

Hmmm ... it still might be a media problem. Memorex discs vary greatly in quality -- apparently they're made by four or five manufacturers, then Memorex slaps its name on them. Sometimes you get lucky & have no problems, other times, well, they suck.
You might want to download the demo version of Nero. If that program works with the Memorex discs, you'll know it's the RecordNow program (which I hope it's not!!). If it is, can you contact them for suggestions? Their software shouldn't just stop working ...
Good luck!
