I need to connect the dolby digital output of a new TIVO DVR to an RF modulator that feeds TV's in my garage and workshop. The analog audio outs of this TIVO shut off when the video out is set to any thing other than 480i.

Any ideas?

Is the DD output outputting audio, or a DD stream?
If it's decoded audio, then it should be just fine as the decoded stream will be in stereo or surround, depending what you are hooked up to.

I suspect what is happening is that the DD outputs are still in a stream though, so you may need to get an AV amp inbetween the two. That would solve all the problems, IMO.
