According to www.modchip.com here is what i need to do to play DVD backups. I am using Swap Magic DVD 2.0

Swap Magic Instructions (For Booting PS2 DVDr's):

Boot up the Swap Magic 2 "DVD" disk.

Wait for the PS2 to boot up until "Insert Disc" message appears on the screen.

Now hold the "Eject" button until the power indicator turns from green to orange.

The CD tray will open, Change the Swap Magic 2 disk with your PS2 DVD game disk.

The CD tray will close within 3-5 seconds.

After the CD tray closes press "X" on your controller, your PS2 backup will now load.

I THOUGHT THAT YOU HAD TO COG (KNIFE) METHOD OR USE A FLIP TOP. WHICH IS THE CORRECT WAY?

the above boot method is for when you are using a no solder mod chip instead of the slide card or flip top

what's a 'no solder modchip'?

its an internal plug in chip that allows you to eject a disc in the ps2 without it knowing about it so you can swap disc's the only problem is that they have been known to blow internal fuses in the ps2.

I burned Castlevania and can't get it to boot. I used DVD Decrypter ISO Read/Write 1x using Ritek DVD-R. I just get pink screen. I have a V7 PS2. Don't know what the problem is.

dont actualy own that game my self but what happens when you try to boot your backup?do you have problems booting any other backups?are all your backups on the same type of media?

That's the first one i tried. I put in Swap Magic DVD disc and it says to insert disc. then i did the slide card method and press X and Square and Circle and even triangle. it just froze and then goes to a pink border. What media and software do u use?

i use ritek g04 dvd-r printable discs and burn them with record now to use in my v7 ps2 and have yet to have a problem,i uasualy burn at 2x.You say that you get a red/pink border this is usualy caused by a bad burn have you tried re burning the game as it is posssible you just got a bad disc.

it burned 100% fine with DVD Decrypter. so you don't think it's the Swap Magic DVD disc? when i boot it up, i see moving stars and says 'insert disc'

thats what i get also with my swapmagic dvd usualy if you get a bad swapmagic disc then the swapmagic disc itself just does not boot have you tried re burning the game?
