I want to switch my xbox, now fitted with Evox on my hard drive, to Avalaunch. How do I safely remove Evox and install Avalaunch?

Yes, I want to keep everything, but just switch evox to avalaunch. I've been trying all day and still no luck. I've tried restoring my old C: settings and removing evox, and just putting the avalaunch.xbe and .xml and all those other files in, and it just boots to msdash. Must be something in the XML file. HELP

I have an aladdin chip. It can be turned on and off by the xbox power switch. I want to be able to switch between Xbox dash and avalaunch. Please just tell me how to remove evox and install avalaunch.

It's very easy, you don't even have to delete the evoX files at all. Just edit the Xecuter 4981 BIOS with XBTool, then reflash your chip with these BIOS! There'll be three text boxes in which you enter the avalaunch.xbe first now, then evoxdash.xbe as the second, and xboxdash.xbe as your 3rd. My SN is: WooMFDay if you need any help when you are online.

So what your saying is that you can switch between any bios, with any chip?

No i figured it out it was a bios configuration problem, easily fixed with xbtool.

Ya, if they are both some-what modern, I haven't tried it on all mod chips, but it should work, just get the right sized BIOS.

Damn it,all you have to do is;
first ftp a copy of your evoxdash.xbe file to your pc for safe keeping,now take all you avalaunch files and ftp them to the drive that your eveox was/is in. Once that is done,all you have to do is delete the evox,xbe and rename your avalaunch xbe file to evoxdash.xbe. Now when your box boots up it will think it's booting evox when in fact it's booting avalaunch. Also if you ever want to change back to evox....just ftp the evoxdash.xbe back into the drive where it was before and then it will boot up to evox. DONE AND DONE.

.....as punqewe said is the way to go, though you don't need to remove evoX just rename it. I have my dashboards named with #s first so there all in 1 group.
ie:
1 evoxdash.xbe
2 avalaunch dash.xbe
3 blackstorm dash.xbe
and so on.
Also I don't have my box networked and use boXplorer for such things.

So when you want to use that dashboard to just change the name to the appropriate name, in which the xbox can read and launch, and then done?
p.s: if so, thats really cool!
