Hi Everyone.

Over the last year or so, I have backed up every PS2 game I have onto my pc hard disk, In the event that one of the original PS2 disks becomes scratched or unreadable. Well that has now happened to and what i thought would be easy task is turning into a real nightmare.

I know know that I should of used Nero or Clonecd and saved the disk image, but I just used WINRAR to backup the whole of the PS2 disk into a rar file.

Is there anyway to transfer these rar files which contain files and directories back onto dvd so my playstation can read them.

I have already brought swap magic thinking that my backup would work straight away. Silly Me !

how did you back up using winrar? and what happens if you unpack the rar file?, as far as I know it won't be possible to make a working backup using those files, you could try cleaning your damaged discs using some metalic paint cutting polish, even if your ps2 won't read them your pc might, then you can use alcohol or dvd decripter to make a good backup that will work in your ps2

You could perhaps try unpacking the contents of the RAR set to a new folder and try burning the entire contents w/subfolders to a blank disc and see if it works. It's generally not how backups are done but it might still work.

another possibility could be to use cd/dvd gen(unpack the files and drag them into it)and use it to build an image for you, this is just a theory,dont know if it would work in practice

Sorry I should of explained more.

I have expanded the rar files and then burned them back onto a disk using Nero. But that does not work.

Where can i find cd/dvd gen that you mentioned.
