Hi, guys...

My problem is simple : I've got a Lite-On DVD+/-RW Writer, model 812S and this crappy thing doesn't let me burn CD-R at speeds inferior to 8x.

I've tried all, DVD Decryptor, Alcohol, Nero of course, Smart-Burn, backing up a copy using Daemon Tools and limitating read speed with Nero DriveSpeed...

So, before I reinstall my old cd writer, I ask you the question : is there a software allowing me to burn at 2x or 4x dependless of my burner's limitations ?

PS : Excuse my english, tis not my native language at all ^^ !

cd-r at 8x should be fine. Are you having problems with games burnt at this speed?

Every PS2 CD backup I have made has been burnt at 16X and every one has played ok, no skipping or freezing. I haven't did a lot of CD game backups, but I know I have burnt Smugglers Run, FIFA 2001, Maximo, Star Wars Starfighter, and Frequency all at 16X.
