i have tried many of my n64 roms on the gamecube using pheonix but they all freeze after saving.

so i looked on a few sites for some that might work and i found a couple that where .gcm and where 520mb and they worked but i cant find any other games (i only got zelda ocarina of time and marion 64) is there any way that i can make my roms that size and turn them into a .gcm file so it will work?

i have tried just loading the games using pheonix 2.3 and none work even zelda (wich from what i hear works)

i am looking for only majoras mask right now OR a way to get my copy of zelda collectors edition to work since i freezes after i select a game.

the way to stop it from freezing after you save is to.....: boot up your gamecube without the memory card in, then when the game (n64rom) promts youto save put in your blank memory card. n64 roms need a separate memory card to gamecube save files.. then remove it straight after youve saved. hope that solves your problem

can somebody explain how I can play n64 roms using my gamecube? Can I just load the game using the Paradox GC Disc Server? (yes, I used the search button, and this is the only n64 topic I could find)

yeah yeah, I figured it out on my own. I played it with StarFox 64 and it ran perfectly! But when I ran it with Super Smash Bros it had no sound and the stages had only shown the background (it didn't show your character, enemy, and the environment. How do I save games with it? How does it save? I know some N64 games require you to save with a memory card, but some use system or cartrage data.

Two more question. Does it support games that would require a Expansion Pack(Like Donkey Kong 64)?

Second question, how well does it work with huge games(like Conker's Bad Fur Day)?

I'm also having problems booting N64 games. With goldeneye, it freezes just as the "reading disc" bar fills, and with super mario 64 it goes to a blank screen right after the bar finishes.

Does anyone know what could be wrong? Or do some games just not work?

the only n4 games that ive heard work are the three zeldas (inc. masters quest).. if your so keen to play them on yourgamecube and they arnt working get 'project 64' and play them on your pc, it is the best emulator by far and youll probably get the best performance this way.

my computer is too weak to play a N64 emulator (clocked at 800mhz, 256mb ram), and I don't need to emulate Ocarina of time or Majora's Mask because I got them when I bought my Gamecube in the Zelda Promotional Disc.

the minimum spec for n64 emulator 'project 64' is a 350mhz processor and 64mb of ram, a 3d accelator card is ideal upwards of 8mb... this would run n64 roms a lot more effciantly than on your gamecube! also just asking my brother now he says almost any game for th n64 can be played this way.. he says he has about 30 at the moment.

Can you tell me your specs? If you do not know them download the program aida32 then tell me.. are you running other programs whilst playing them? If you are running windows xp press ctrl+alt+del then go to the processes tab and end some of the stuff you are not using..

Try using Tool64 to convert rom file to Big Endian (e.g. Mario64) and you will see the difference.

Hey why r u converting the n64 roms 2 GC its easier and works a lot better if you just run the games on a 64 emulator like project 64 you can download it at www. bestromsites.com and then go to checkpoint or if you want net play with the roms like smash bros which work great even if you have a win 98 but you can only use net play with project64k just put the name under search and also do you know where i can get some good GC roms
