i'm new to all this dl'ing movie stuff. here's my dilemma: needed to buy a new puter, so i went all out on this Vaio with DVD burner. I've been dl some cool movies i'd like to burn onto DVD. prob is that the vast majority are in dvix or avi format. what do i need to do to convert them into mpeg form in order to burn them so i can play them in a DVD player?. any help would be much appreciated so i can start getting some value out of the money i spent on this computer. :) thanks if it helps, the dvd burning software i have is DVDit! for Vaio.

first convert the divx to VCD:
