Hi All,

I just got my V9 modded by an installer 2 weeks ago. Last week as I opened up the console, I noticed one of the outside eight screws is silver instead of black like the others.

Is that silver one a wrong screw?

Thanks!

Probaby, but if your machine is working fine I wouldn't worry about it.

My machine is working okay.

However, I'm just wasn't happy with the installer's work. I bought the console brand-new from the store, then had him install the chip for me the next week. Days later after the installation, I have a burnt out laser and spent $50 for the laser replacement. Now, I'm finding out that I have a irregular screw on my system.

Are you sure your installer was trustworthy? It's unheard of for a laser to burn out in a v7+ machine. Is there any chance he may have swapped another laser into your machine and used yours for his own purposes?

I found the guy on a forum, he sells pre-mods and do installations as a home business. There were a lot of satisfied people who got their installation from him.

So I thought he'll be pretty trustworthy. But this is my first PS2 system and it already got a burnt out laser within two weeks out of the box and proably less then 3 hours of play time.

there is 1 silver screw in the v9s that goes near the power/eject button , so that is normal . also there are alot of v9/10 ps2s that have bad lasers the day they leave sony , so both things you have mentioned are normal and i doubt was the installers fault .

Pro U.S.ps2 mod installer!
