Ok heres the deal. For the past few months, I had been using dvdxcopy xpress to burn my dvds. Never had any problems. But I am now sick of that damn "dvd backup" screen the program puts on all my dvds, and decided I would start ripping, shrinking, and burning in 3 steps using dvdecrypter, dvdshrink, and nero 6. Now, when I burn disks using this method, the dvd player reads the disk, but the image on the screen scrolls from bottom to top over and over... basically the video is unwatchable, but it is there. This has happened with several different dvds. Any ideas what my problem may be? I don't think its the media I'm using, since it worked fine before, I don't think its the burner, because that still works with dvdxcopy, and I don't think its the software, because the dvds don't work whether I use Roxio's Easy CD Creator or Nero 6. But if it's none of the above... what the hell is it!? I'm sure you can understand my frustration, haha. I'm using the NEC 1100-A DVD+RW burner Appreicate the help guys.

Hmmm ... I've been reading a lot about problems with Nero lately (or some version of Nero). Have you tried using Shrink to write an .iso file that you can then burn with Decrypter, by-passing Nero altogether? Just today my usual routine of Shrink-plus-RecordNow didn't work so I had to use an .iso file and Decrypter burned it flawlessly. But it does burn only .iso files so you can't rip in file mode in Shrink (i.e., you can't end up with a video_ts folder full of files) -- rip to an .iso file instead.

Keep us posted!!

Karen H.--Dell Optiplex GX240, P4 1.50ghz, 256mb RAM (yeah, I need more), Windows XP Pro w/SP1, 80gb c: drive (replaced the 20gb c: that crashed), 126gb i: drive, 124gb j: drive, 500gb external hard drive partitioned into k: and l: drives, Sony DDU1621/C1 DVD-ROM to rip/encode, Sony DRX-530UL to burn, new Sony DRX-840U to burn DL discs ... need a new computer to go with it!!

Roxio and Nero tend to fight with each other. You should uninstall both, pick one and re-install. I suggest Nero. Also if you have Nero 6, did you get all the updates(1-4)? If so, you need to uninstall update #3(InCD4).

Either use Shrink w/ Decrypter(ISO's) or Shrink w/ Nero(Video_TS files) ... no need for all three. You can use Decrypter, then Shrink, then Decrypter again when Shrink can't crack the css encryption. And make sure the box for verify is unchecked.

Well, I tried uninstalling both roxio and Nero and reinstalled Nero, still no luck. My problem here is that I have all these ripped dvds on my computer, but I no longer have the actual disks, so using 321gone with dvdxcopy won't really work (since I don't have to rip from a physical dvd.) Any other ideas?

I have also tried burning with DVDShrink using Nero without any luck, as well as burning ISO's with Nero, no luck there either.
