Hi all,
I am a newbie to burning dvds and have just bought a dvd writer. It is an Atapi dvd dual. I have installed it. I have bought a backup of driv3r off of a person who i normally get them off and have tried copying it. The backup works perfectly so i put it in my dvd drive and then put a blank datawrite dvd-r 4x into my dvd writer. i got sonic record now 6 with the dvd writer. i load it up and click on backup projects and then click on exact copy i put my source drive as samsung drive (D) as the drive to read from where the backup of driv3r is and then i put drive (f) which is the atapi dvd writer as the device to write to. So i click copy and then it says error the source you are trying to copy is bigger than the destination disk.Driv3r is on a 4.7gb disk and i am using 4.7gb disks so how can it be bigger. It also does this with copied movies as well. I thought that i might be able to do it as a data disk because i copied a copy of bruce almighty like that and it worked so i click on data project and then add files or folders and then click drive (D) and then select all the files on the disk and click burn. I have set my speed to 8x and my disks are 4x (yellow ones) and it still takes about 2 hours. It completes it and i go put swap magic in and then load it and it doesnt load. So i come back to my pc and then click on my computer then (D) drive and then drag that to a new folder in my documents. when that is done and is on my hard drive i take driv3r out put another blank in the dvd writer drive (F) and then open up record now 6 and click on data projects then on data disk and then select add folders and open up the file in my documents and select the files in there which is driv3r files what i copied to the folder from the game and then i click open. Then burn and wait again and then it still doesnt load. So how do i do it. Please please help me and how come the other one that i got off of this person i know works and mine doesnt. How do i do it. I look at the one that i got given and the ones i burnt and they have burned the same ammount on all disks so what programs do i use. and why is it taking hours to burn when i have chosen the speed to be max. Thanks. All help will be greatly appretiated.

My ps2 is a v7 i think and i have swap magic version 2 and am trying to backup a backup of driv3r. The other backup works but when i do mine that one doesn't.HELLPP

That sucks man - but since you violated forum rules ( NO PIRACY ). Then I'm afraid no one here will answer your question. Questions here are only allowed for people who own originals of the game they are backing up.

hi,
I do own the original of driv3r and my friend backs up some of my good games so that if they get lost or broken then i can use that one. My kids are always messing with them and putting dirty fingerprints on them and scratching and leaving them out. it really got on my knerves so i eventually got a fliptop and smd2 and now my friend backs up some of my precious games for me. But he has moved to another country with his wife and now i am trying to figure it out as well. Please help

Have you tried making new backups of the originals?

wot programs do you recomend and wot settings to use. or is there a guide to tell me how to use it.

Any burn program that doesn one to one copies of DVD discs should do fine with the exception of Roxio.

I dont mean to be picky, but if that is what you wrote and intended to say that you own a copy and paid someone else to do it (supposed "friend").... you know what, whatever - you got busted I guess that doesnt matter anymore. Good luck.

what do you mean busted. who got busted, i didn't. my friend was running out of money and need to save up so i paid for him to do me a backup. I have now backed up my original of gta vice city and it worked so what programs do i use other than record now 6.

i have backed up my original of gta vice city and it worked. maybe its just driv3r that doesnt work. i will try another backup i have. I am using recordnow 6 but when i go to exact copy it says error. source is bigger than destination or something like that. so what other program shall i use
