Will Princo dvd's damage PS2 laser

I've tried burning brand new Sony, Ritek(G04) and Princo dvd-r's at 2x(the lowest I can). I use swap magic, and slidecard. I recently got a new version 10 ps2, because my version 4 got DRE's. I've heard ritek are the best but they won't work for me. They are either very glitch or very slow. The only brand I got to work perfectly is Princo, but I heard it has bad dye and over works the laser, thus wearing it out fast. Is this true??? Because from what I can see they load fast and don't seem to struggle to load or skip. But I want to know if they are damageing the laser?

All of my backups are on Princo and have never had a problem. Every PS2 acts diferrently with media, some like brand (a) some like brand (b) and so on.
