Hi, I have a problem with mp3 files.. I dumped some audio tapes that I had to mp3's, using SoundForge to both capture and then save as mp3 using VBR. The problem is that all the files seem to be somehow mis-indexed. Different players have different problems with them:

Winamp will show fake length, or the scroll bar will not range the whole file, so if I move it to the very end, it will only move to like the middle of the file, and then the audio still plays, but the time counter is now beyond the origionally displayed time length, obviously no navigation is possible at that point, since the scrollbar is permenantly at the right end...

WMP scrollbar ranges the whole file, but when playing the file, and marking the current time, and content, then restarting playback, manually scrolling to that time, the content is different.. So fast forwarding to some playback-time does not yeild the same content every time...

On a portable MP3 player, the problem seems to be just like the one in Winamp, only can navigate the first 26 minutes, beyond that, it will play, but if stopped, or FF/RW, goes back to start of the recording...

What is the problem? And is there an easier fix that to re-rip mp3 into mp3 again so that the new mp3 has correct indexing or whatever?
