hey guys.. i am new here and i just wanted to ask you ppl a few questions.

i am trying to backup a ps2 game of mine becuase i just got my ps2 chipped. i tried using alchahol 120% but it freezes 5 seconds into burning stage..

i am currently using dvd decrypter and i am just wondering is it alright to use the microsoft aspi layer because i tried all morning trying to intall the adaptec and it didnt work and i installed the nero 6 layer but how do i use this layer with dvd decrypter?

only 2 layers work i think which are the ms layer and the elby layer.. i havn't tried the VSO layer though.

also.. do i need to change any settings before i read and write or should the backups work with defualt settings.

hmm.. ok.. i tried twice to backup my games and they both failed.

the first one said something about a I/O error and the second my computer just forze for some reason..

can somebody tell me if i should be reading at max speed or not and if default settings will work.

Run in ISO Read mode and run it at slowest speed 1x.
Once done change to ISO Write mode and run at 1x speed.

umm.. ok.. i'll try that next time. so just read and write at 1X is ISO mode? i don't need to change any settings?

i just backed up my ffx-2 and it freezes ingame.. maybe coz i burned it at 4X and read it at max.

I did'nt have to change any settings other than which mode I ran in.

I use DVD-R from GoalLover and I an Optorite DVD 4x R/RW -+... Never had any problems with my backups not even EA games.

oh and btw.. whe u say u use default settings does that mean you use the microsoft aspi layer?

should i be using that one or the Nero one i downloaded?

umm one more question.. how do i change the iso read speed? i changed read speed in options but it still reads at a faster rate?
