Hi,
I am unable to view the DVDs that I have been able to burn/copy. After nero has finished copying the movie there are no files (vob files) on the disc that I have just copied onto. It is basically still a blank but it cannot be used again. I use decryptor, dvd2one and nero to copy movies until recently always OK but at 4x speed there is a power calibration error and I can't burn them at that speed but it appears 2 work OK at 2x speed only for no movie to be there when I try to play it. I have updated firmware, cleaned drive. re-installed drive, updated nero, updated ASPI, used it in another PC, updated decryptor, nothing appears to work but it copies CD ok. any help
thanks

Easy questions first ... (1) Have you tried another brand of media? (2) Have you tried another FORM of media, e.g. DVD+R if you've been using DVD-R? Do you know for sure which type of disc your burner supports? (3) When you say it doesn't play, have you tried it in both your computer & in a standalone player? Please give us as many details as possible.
Karen H.--Dell Optiplex GX240, P4 1.50ghz, 256mb RAM (yeah, I need more), Windows XP Pro w/SP1, 80gb c: drive (replaced the 20gb c: that crashed), 126gb i: drive, 124gb j: drive, 500gb external hard drive partitioned into k: and l: drives, Sony DDU1621/C1 DVD-ROM to rip/encode, Sony DRX-530UL to burn, new Sony DRX-840U to burn DL discs ... need a new computer to go with it!!

You could also test the file before you burn it. Can you successfully view the video_ts file or ISO image? DVD Shrink will open and play both.
Can you post your system specs? What brand of media your currently using? Which aspi layer you used?
Quote: I use decryptor, DVD2One and Nero to copy
Have you tried using DVD Shrink? And can you post your steps using Decrypter/DVD2One/Nero? Perhaps it's in your process.

thanks, folks
Ok I tried to keep it short but this is what has happened firstly power calibration error on drive, could only copy at 2x then that stopped also, managed to to get past this eventually. I have been using the same media for almost a year(bulkpaq and datawrite) now so I doubt that they are the problem. , I have cleaned drive, installed aspi layer (forceaspi) is all I can remember, updated my pioneer DRV106 firmware, updated Nero, installed the drive in another machine, nothing appears to work but I can still burn CD.
Ssystem specs
P4 2.4 Ghz.1GBb DDR,80gb HDD, Pioneer 106D DVR, Win XP Pro, I use decryptor - DVD2One then Nero6 in that order. usually no problems

1.)Open Nero and choose Nero tool kit, info tool, disc and then look for the manufacturer's ID report what you see. 2.) Choose configuration and report what you see there, verbatim. Be certain to keep the reports in context with their channels.

good feedback, The drive is working now and I thought that the burner was dying. All I did was buy new media and it worked. I was using the same media for about a year and never had any problems with it, so I didn't suspect them but it was the media after all, it may have been a bad batch, I threw them all out and won't be buying them again. thanks to all who replied.
