i looked for a few hours and i couldnt find nothing about this

i have a GS ver2 and i tryed the swap disk knife thing but the disk stops spinning after about 30 seconds

i have come to a few concusions why its not working and maybe one of you point me to the right one before i spend more money on the wrong solution

1: the GSver2 sucks and is not leting me play the back up ( buying swapdiskslater when i got the cash)

2: the color on the bottom of the dvd is a dark purple i was reading the the reason why a ps2 or ps1 will not play a cd/dvd rw is becouse the surface tends to be a bit darker and the laser is not power full enuf to pick it up

so im thinking A: i need to buy a better dvdr ( im currently useing some no name crap dvd-r

b: i need to buy a dvd+r i think my ps2 is a ver4 acourding to one of the guides has 8 screws at the bottom

c: my laser needs to be ajusted for more power to read the media

i have cleaned the laser and made sure it was a perfectly scrach free dvd that i used i heard that maxell (sp?) dvdr's might work better not sure though

oh im also useing game x copy for makeing the backups

any ideas or solutions you may have to help me play some of my older wore out games would be great

1. yes, gameshark sucks
2. color doesn't matter
3. get better media (ritek, fuji, etc.) Also use -R
4. could also try dvd decrypter for backups
