Hello all, I am new to this forum. Looks like there is some smart people here so I am hoping to get some help. I am trying to back up this game for the PS2 and it just goes back to the pink "insert PS2 disc" screen when starting a new game. Everything else functions up until that point. So far I have made 3 coasters as a result of this. I have tried using Roxio, Alcohol 120% trial version, game X copy. Tried slowing the burn down as much as possible, all of them just stop at that same point. I have cleaned the laser and checked the laser strength and its all good. I have a Magic mod chip in there now and it works fine, this is the first game I have had problems with. I am using TDK DVD+R & Maxell DVD+R media. PLEASE HELP, THIS IS SOOOO FRUSTRATING.

I know, sorry. I just wanted to change the title as I wasn't sure if I'd get a response from the one I had is all. I could see anywhere to delete it.

No its not new, about 3 years old I guess. All the other games work fine. I will try the Decrypter software with a Verbatim disc and see what it does I guess.

Tried it as mentioned, NO GOOD. This thing is such a pain. I have about 5 nice shiny new coasters now for drinks when people come over. I don't understand why this is happening. It goes to the same point in the game then goes back to the pink screen. Right when I start a new game, screen goes black, then back to pink. What am I doing wrong??????????????

first of all, if you have swap magic, then for this particular game, you need dvd loader (found at swapmagicfix.com) Also, Decryptor and Alcohol 120% Trial Version work perfect for me. Don't use DVD + R discs, but -R discs. And I use Maxell DVD-R discs. No problems at all. And make sure you're writing at the lowest speed possible. Other than all that, I dno't know

As far as I know, PS2 can only read DVD-R discs. (I use SwapMagic) Maybe I'm wrong, but nearly everyone who backs up games use DVD-R discs. Ask around. But if you use -R I don't think that you'll have a problem

Whats your PS2 version? I have a v9 and I know for a fact that the NTSC v9/v10 PS2's versions do not work with swapping and cdloader/dvdloader as a direct boot. You either need to get a modchip or have a v1-6 to play it as a direct boot. Another option is getting the PAL version, which works with any backup option (swapping, mod, etc.)

If you're lucky and have a v1-6 PS2 then you can get a patch for your ISO from ps2ownz: http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21616&page=1&pp=15

This will allow you to boot it up. Good luck.

Actually, I just read off of ps2ownz that you need Gameshark 2 v2 to get it to boot on v7+ consoles.

Instructions can be found here: http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21616&page=2&pp=15

YES!!

I don't get it. People said that they have had it working without any swapping or anything. This game shark thing is the first I have read of it. I think I will just have to give up on this... I'm not investing anything else into it at this stage of the game.

Give thanks to SSDragongoku and PS2OWNZ.com for this!!!

This is exact instructions for getting Splinter Cell : Pandora Tomorrow working on a v9 usa ps2 by using Gameshark2 v2 or earlier and also used a fulldvd backup of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow not ripped.

Load up cdloader first, when it loads then fliptop swap with the Gameshark 2 v2 or below and hit x, then just hit start or x and choose "Without Codes" then hit x then press eject and insert the dvd swap magic disc and hit x, when the dvd swap magic disc loads then fliptop swap to dvdloader v7 all and hit x, when dvdloader v7all loads, then hit x and choose 5v3 no pn and hit X again, when your back at the main dvdloader v7all screen, then press eject and insert the dvd swap magic disc again and hit X. When "Put in a dvdr by ea method and press x to play" shows up then fliptop swap to your backup of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and hit X. This will take care of the problem with the loading stopping at the "o".

This method works for action replay also follow this link http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21616&page=2&pp=15
