Hi, I bought the drive because Anandtech.com gave it top ratings, and my experience has been very positive. Mostly all I burn are Ritek G04 disks at 4X. The problem developed when I recently bought some Ritek retail Ridata G04 disks that I got for only $.50 each. Before I have been using 100 packs of the silver or white topped. The problem is that when I put in these new disks they turned out to be pure crap and would only burn some of the time at 1X. No big deal right just dump them and go back to higher quality media. But now my drive only recognizes G04 as 1X media no matter what. So when I put in my good disks, (I am 2/3rds of the way through a 100 pack and have had no costers) They will only burn at 1X! I thought ok I'll just reflash the drive to clear the settings and be all good. No go I have reflashed to 375 and the previous version as well and no matter what if the disk has a G04 code it won't burn faster than 1X. I learned that it is a code problem, because in diagnosing the problem I put one of the bad disks into my wifes computer do see if my drive had a problem (right after a good 4X burn) and her drive now will only burn G04's at 1X. Please HELP!
