I have a PS2 which I use to play dvd-r's. I burned 2 dvd's to start; a .img and a .nrg, the .nrg burn worked fine and the .img didn't (Tv system doesn't match) at first I thought the .img was PAL so I checked with Nero info tool:

What worked:

File sys: ISO9660, Joliet, UDF

App: Nero - Burning ROM

Format NTSC 4:3 (Mpeg 1, 720x480)

Regions all

What didn't work:

File sys, ISO9660, UDF

App, MKISOFS ISO 9660/HFS FILESYSTEM

Format NTSC 4:3 (Mpeg 1, 720x480)

Regions all

I'm not sure what caused the problem the file system or the app that was used to rip the DVD, as the file systems are almost identical.

so does anyone know what caused the problem?

I have another .img and it has the same file sys as the one that didnt work except its says:

File sys, ISO9660, UDF

App, N/A

Format NTSC 16:9 (Mpeg 2, 720x480)

Regions all

Anyone know what PS2 will play and wont?

What movies are you copying. Go and get DVD shrink if you are copying movies. It is a free program that was made to copy movies. I use it and it works amazing. It will remove the macrovision protection and regions, plus you can remove parts the the dvd disc, menu, languages etc. If you aren't copying movies and its ps2 games you should use DVD decrypter. I can promise that if you use DVD shrink you will never use nero or anyother progy again and that it will work. its free and small. don't be fooled by the size of it.
