I really hope someone can help me, I am trying to load backups on my PS2 with no joy.

I don't know which chip I have but I use DVD Region X to load backups. CDRs work fine, but I can not get DVD games to load.
I think I have V4 PS2... the version is SCPH-35003

I was originally burning to +R discs but I then heard that these dont work, so I have used -R but these will not work either. When I put the backup in, the screen just goes black like it is loading, but then does nothing.

It is a PAL system and the games I have tried are Time Crisis 3 and NFSU (both PAL). I created the backup using DVD Decrypter and burned them with Nero at 1x.

I am aware that DVD Region X has two methods for loading backups, but I can not get either of them to work.

Please help!
Thanks in advance.

you could use dvd region x to load cd loader and go from there. http://www.swapmagicfix.com

thanks for that sly, I tried that and when I put the disc in once cd loader had loaded, that was saying that the dvd was invalid - both the +r and -r versions i tried.

does anyone have any idea why this might be? maybe my burning, or the backup file on my hard drive needs making again?

any help greatly appreciated

im assuming your modchip makes you hold eject or something which opens the tray. Load cd loader, hit eject and insert a big original ps2 game. then do what ever you do and insert the backup.

my chip works through dvd region x

i boot up with that in, then when thats fully loaded i eject it and place in the backup, put the tray back in, then press start and it should load.

there is another method where i boot up and hold in the reset button. i then release it when dvd region x is loaded and it sends the tray out and i swap the discs, the tray goes in automatically and the game loads.

as i am swapping the disc more than once i can only really do the 1st option
