What's the best recorder with an HDD??

Hi, I need to purchase a DVD recorder with an HDD and firewire input ASAP, however my knowledge on features etc... as far as which brand to go with is limited, so I thought maybe someone here could help me. One thing to note is quality is important as this machine will be used for Television BROADCAST material. It will be vital for time coding and transcription purposes.

Thanks for the help, also, I'm in Canada, so if anyone knows prices please let me know so I can compare to canadian pricing etc...
