black screen when start game - help!

backed up 'splinter cell' pandora tomorrow using alcohol 120 with standard settings. ripped ok, but then when attempting to play on ps2 with swapmagic discs, can get to intro screens fine, but when select 'one player' or whatever, just get black screen.
any advice would appreciated

this game needs cd loader. if u don't know what this is, then check out swapmagicfix.com. if u want more info pm me. (private message)

Also, if you have a v7+ NTSC ps2, you need gameshark or action replay also for that game.

alas have v7 PAL ps2 - used the cdloader disc and followed instructions, but now get back to original ps2 screen where is says 'please insert ps2 disc'
this is for splinter cell pandora tomorrow btw - does it need any patches or anything?

you need to use the 5v4 no pn option in cd loader.
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader

cool, but unfortunately when getting to the options menu on the cdloader disc, i just get 8 menu bars going down the screen, as opposed to beta 5v2, or whatever - as it says on the swapmagicfix site.
would you say that the cdloader image i have burnt is dodgy?

i would say you burnt the wrong version of cd loader. you need the cdloader v7 all

just on another note - is the list from swapmagicfix.com a definitive list of games that need cdloader - i.e. will most other games not on the list just work with a simple Alcohol 120 rip?

sorry to sound like a muppet but there is no 5v4 no pn option on the cdloader v7 all disc that i burned.
all i get is the following:
http://home.rochester.rr.com/ps2ownz/OPTiON.gif
i.e. 5v3 no pn option, and splinter cell option - both give just a green screen!
i am rapidly getting fed up with this game i must say!
