Ok, im sure you all have this problem.
I put in my Swap Magic DVD v2 and oh look the memory card has come up with the DVD next to it. It always does this, until i restart it a number of times, or keep selecting the cd, what is going on. Does this have anything to do with the fact that my PS2 is standing ? Because i tryed it flat down and at one point i have a run of 6 times in a row it loaded, does anyone else have this problem or know how to conqour it ?

I have not had this problem but you may want to clean the SMD & the laser on your PS2.

I Cleaned the disc as it had little specs on it, i have a CD Lens cleacer which is like a cd with little brissels on it, but it doesnt say for DVD, do you think i should use it ?

If you want to be positive on getting the lase clean you should open the case and remove the cover over the laser and use rubbing alcohol & Q-tips to clean it properly. That would help, I would also suggest you make sure the PS2 is laying down and not horizontal when playing gmaes. For some reason the PS2 has a harder time reading when it is vertical.

are you using a fliptop? if so, just use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol on the ps2 lens.

Make sure it's 90% or better, I have gotten as high as 99. The vertical/horizontal thing isn't true, it all depends on your ps2. Mine reads much better vertical, you should know what works best for you.

Well i dont have any wubbing alcohol bit i did clean the lens with a Q-tip, i will try it lying down, i need a flat surface that it wond slide around on, il try it, its strange tho, it loads some of the time, like 50/50 chance, sometimes it loads and teh insert disc screne apears, others it loads the Browser and you can click on the disk throught that, i will try cleaning the disc, lens and putting it flat, i havent really used it that much in a while so that might have something to do with it.

:| dry QTips? if your laser could aim it would blind you. You can easily scratch your laser optics with a dry qtip. ctrl-z

Well actualy i asume your american, we dont have Q-tips over here, we call them cotton buds, and the ones i used and sharp and grity like the average one, thes are smoth and bouncy, ive used them before for various things.

Yeah i lay it down flat at eh success rate of it loading has gone from 50% to 82%, so i think its just an old DVD drive, i ahve had my ps2 for a fiar few years now, it seems to be getting better the more i use it.

It gets -better-, the more you use it? You had to "restart it a number of times" to get it to work, new ps2s aren't like that...

no i dont mean that. it read the dvd just didnt load because my tray doesnt have the proper thing to hold the cd up properly so it doesnt spin properly, it does now, and it all works good.
