I've got a PS2(SCPH30002) with modchip, I've still gotta use Region X to get CD-R backups to work, I recently got a Liteon 8x +/- DVD writer, I know DVD-R discs work on my PS2 because DVD backups on that media work, however, I cannont seem to get PS2 backups to work, I've used Ritek -R 4x and Princo -R 4x media. I've used Alcohol 120% and DVD Decryptor. Any ideas?

The game I'm trying to backup is Enter The Matrix.

Also on Alcohol 120%, when making an image, it doesn't ask me to select the type of image to make(eg: Audio CD, Playstation, Playstation 2).

Any ideas on what kind of chip I have?(it's chipped, but I still need to use region X to swap discs).

Here's a suggestion: dont bothering backing up Enter The Matrix - it's a terrible, horrible game.

Either way, it could be that your .iso image is not being made properly. If no type of image is asked then it detected the correct one on its own. Try using dvddecryptor if it is a DVD game. If it's a CD game then try d/ling a new version of alcohol.

best guess your chip is a neo 2/2.2 try using your normal boot method to boot cd loader then use cd loader to refresh the toc with a orignal large file ps2 dvd game then swap for your backup
