Just another good reason to add to an ever growing list of not switching to win8

How wonderful. Microsoft has already given the NSA and the government unfettered access to outlook and hotmail accounts, now they're throwing in another way for them to access your information through skype. I Guess they want to be able to see and hear you also.
What a fantastic addition to that operating system. No wonder it's selling so well, they just keep piling on the improvements.

I don't need Windows 8 in order to have Skype. Anything "bundled" with a new OS is simply BLOATWARE. I'm on XP and I've installed Skype separately!

Don't think so, i thought it was IE was installed by default, M$ made it a pain to install another browser, and put licensing in contracts with OEM's like de11, not to install other browsers on the machines.

I think maybe your getting the windows licence sales tax on hardware and the browser ruling mixed together : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_U..._investigations

More of the same old if you ask me... does it come with a communications package choice screen giving a choice of skype, google talk/hangouts, viber, etc, nope, then watch this space

Even if it did it probably wouldnt display due to ermmmm technical reasons.... aparently..?!?!.

As long as I can stop it from auto-running at startup then I personally don't give a toss.

Its a lot easier being righteous than right.

Why would anyone use XP voluntarily anymore?

For an old machine without much RAM.

Yeah, a client had a late model EeePC 9XX (a nice machine) that needed a redo and I considered Win7 but as it had only 1 gig ram the XP factory restore seemed the way to go.

Its a lot easier being righteous than right.
