ps2 backup using dvd decryptor

I'm a newbie at burning games but i read the faq and then tried to backup my Smash Court tennis pro tournament 2 game using dvd decryptor. I followed the exact instructions posted but at 95% (during the writing phase) i got an error that said the reason the burning failed was that it was an illegal mode for this track. I tried burning it on many different brands of DVD-Rs but it still won't work. I read some where that some games need to be patched but i don't know how to patch nor how to get the patches. I'm using an external sony dvd burner on my laptop. just wondering if any one could help.
