Help i cant get my avi file into nero

Hi
I have downloaded 2 parts og a film and i am trying to get them on a vcd, i open nero 6 and select vcd and go to add file and a box pops up saying cannot add unsupported format, what am i doing wrong.

your problem is AVI is the the wrong format for a VCD a VCD i what you call mpeg 1 and dvd is mpeg 2 you need to convert the file you can use win mpeg convert or there are heap of other programs you can down load or if you want to go all out i use roxio dvd builder 6 you can put menues and all that sort of shit in its heaps easy to use and it will take any file format stich them all together and burn them as a dvd or VCD

you cant burn a VCD from a AVI,it needs to be encoded to a mpeg1 first.check out this guide:http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/divx_to_vcd.cfm

If you want to go that route then Nero vision express can do the same thing but the encoder is not of very good quality(neither is roxio for that matter imho)but at least you already have Nero.

hi
i have managed to change file into mpeg and got it into Nero and burned it and when i played it on my dvd player i could hear everything but had no picture, any ideas?

there is aprogram you can download off here in the download called spruce it up try that it is a builder!
