DVD shrink has recently been updated to version 3.2. Considering the improved back-up capabilities of this app using the new "quality" settings, I suggest that a dedicated area be allocated for allcomers to post.

I currently use DVDremake & CCE/RB. I use this Shrink for preliminary "stipping/viewing" prior to re-processing. This dedicated area could also provide instruction on the above.

This decicated area could also act as a "tidy up" for the existing DVD-r sections.

Totally agree brian,

I had started to post a new thread about shrink 3.2(comments and opinions) but after seeing your thread here let's just say I'm signing the petition for shrink 3.2 to have it's own platform.

I have recommended everyone to do the same and maybe AD will acquiesce.

I would also agree that the new Shrink 3.2 needs its own dedicated area ... for the reasons already mentioned.

Some of the 3.2 features can also be used with other transcoders, and having its own area would be a good way to explore these.

After surfing around the forums, I've noticed several threads concerning the improved 3.2 version. They range from the finding of the grail to finding the red-headed stepchild. It will probably be difficult to bring the discussion to a focus. Maybe when the hype decreases and things settle down, a discussion of merit may ensue.

no doubt it looks improved, I think it's layout is the best out of any app i've used, and the more options the better.

but when the day comes to close, quality is my main consideration. definitely need to do some comparisons, and hear reviews.

so this is my bid for it's own section as well. as it's use is already high, and im sure to be higher, it really does need it's own section.

In that case, give all the various software programs their own section. We can even break that up into freeware and retail categories. Furthering the endeavor, we can even compartmentalize the recording software and the utility programs. Wouldn't want to talk about an editing program in a recording software section now, would we? Point being, allocating sections is a bit of favoritism unless it is done across the board. And often I've seen sections devoted to a single program become stagnant.

I believe 321 paid for their section. Who is going to pay for all the others. Or are they now all going to be free promotions for various software?

Done, moved couple of thousand msgs there as well:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/125

Typically I wouldn't do this, but I agree that the DVDR for n00bs forum room was getting simplytoo big -- same thing happened when we reached 50,000 msgs in PS2 forum, simply had to split it up to make some kind of sense to it.

Now, its upto mods to keep control that Shrink discussion stays in Shrink forum..

dRD(da boss),

Thank you, I think it's a wise decision on your part. BTW, I personally think AD is the best forum out there and the mods are well up to the task.

(even tho sometimes we stray off topic, lol. Keep up the good work)
