I have heard that there is a program out there that will do everything for you in a couple of simple steps. I have no idea what this program is, but according to what i have heard, it takes the >4.7GB DVD and re-endcodes it and burns it onto one DVD-r. IS this true?

The jury is still out on that one I'm afraid, although there are plenty of people out there who would have you believe 'they' have the answer (It is never *that* simple). Have a shufty at DVDecrypter (you can download from here) and DVDX, from 321 (there have been a 'couple' of comments about that here. Have a browse about this site, see what people are using, download and do it.
