Hi guys,

I just set up a new wireless network connection within my house, however I ran into a couple of problems... I've succesfully put this "main" computer into the network, a mobile laptop, and I've attempted to connect another desktop to the network as well.

1.) The main computer and laptop connected successfully, but under network neighborhood/network places etc, only the shared documents of the two computer show up. I would like to share the two computers in their entirety. Any help on that?

2.) Also, on the second desktop I wanted to connect, The hardware has been installed correctly, and when the adapter scans for any wireless connections it detects my network, however, it fails to connect. Any help here?

To share anything you want right click on the folder and press sharing and security, then follow from there.

Matty's got it right. In windows explorer you need to right click on your c drive (or whatever folder you want to share) and enable sharing. Just be careful, because anyone can see these drives by hacking your wireless signal (wardriving). Also if your firewall is enabled, it may make it difficult to see those drives.

I used to share my entire c drive on all my computers on my home network. Way to easy to get a virus on all computers, and have someone hack your info. Now I just share mp-3, videos and other non-sensitive docs and I back up those docs frequently. I would never share the windows directory (ie. passwords, etc.)

I agree with early comments, I would share the entire C: drive. Only open up to certain folders and never share you Win or windows folder.

What OS are you running on these desktops. IF the second one that is not connecting running WinXP, see if the WinXp firewall is enabled in the Local connections. If so turn it off or give permissions to allow trafic from the network. Althought that is them same as turning it off.
