I am new to this forum... I was having some problems with these new Verbatim DVD-R discs i bought to backup PS2 games... I thought someone can help

I have a Version 1 PS2 with a Messiah Modchip installed. I Have a Sony DW-U14A DVD+-RW internal writer. I use Nero 6 Ultra Edition...

I backed up one of my ps2 games onto a Verbatim 2X 4.7Gig DVD-R... I put it in to the PS2 after a while when i go on to the browser it shows 'Disc Read Error'

I tried with different ps2 games on the same discs and the same message was shown on the PS2 browser...

Does anyone know why? Anyone come across the same problems? please help, if anyone can...

Thanks

Have you tried powering on the system with the game in the drive. I don't believe the Messiah chips allow the game to be seen/booted from the browser screen.

What i do normally is, insert the backup game disc... wait till it automaticallly comes up... after a while (a minute or so) if it dosent come up i go to the browser and check if there are any errors... and with the backups made using verbatim they show errors so far....

i have tried restarting the console with the game inside... and starting it with the power switch at the back while the disk is inserted

If it works with other blank media, I say just go with it although it could be a sign that your laser is wearing out or needs cleaning.
