PS2 Red Border when trying to play ANY game with slide-card

I've got a problem. I just got started with backing up my games just a couple of days ago. I ended up using a generic CD+RW that came with my burner not knowing that it probably wouldn't read it, just to see if I could get it working. Well, come to find out, I kept getting that red border after I swapped everything out and slid it back and pushed X that red border would come up every time. I tried using Nero and DVD Decrypter to back the same game up but they both gave me the red border. Even my regular CD-ROM won't read it, but my DVD Burner will.

So I try using a factory game to see if it works. Of course it works normally, but when I tried it with the slide card there came the red border again. So I come to conclusion that it can't be the disk, because the factory game was fine without the slide card and it can't be burnt wrong because I matched them up on my computer to look at the files and everything looks fine. So I must be using the slide card wrong. I;m pretty sure I'm doing everything right except the last part where you have to slide it back. I slide it back but I'm not sure if it goes all the way back or not, it's hard to tell. Anyway, it may not even be the slide card. Does anyone have an answer to this?

you should try burning the discs on a CD-R and not CD-RW since your version 4 may not be able to handle those type of discs. also use good media and not really cheap stuff.
