T-Mobile is now the U.S.' third largest mobile carrier

T-Mobile, long the smallest of the major mobile carriers, has now surpassed Sprint to take sole control of third place.
According to their recent earnings reports, T-Mobile USA now has 58.9 million customers, ahead of Sprint at 57 million. For the quarter, T-Mobile added 2 million new customers, crushing Sprint who managed to gain, but only 675,000.

Too bad US cell service is bottom of the barrel crap!
All four are horrid!
Here just outside Chicago near Naperville, Verizon sucks!!! Tmobile sucks everywhere, Sprint is semi okay around here but still sucks and ATT seems hit or miss.
Ditch the cell! Been without one myself for 2 yrs, 2 months.

Tmobile works great out here in Az and Orange County. I don't see myself switching over to any of the other carriers.

With a rooted phone and the right ROM - I currently use CyanogenMod 12, which is Android 5.0, on my LG G2 D801 - T-Mobile makes a reasonably decent replacement for cable internet in many areas. In MD, I was seeing 38 Mbit down and 19 mbit up! Supposedly it can hit 50 Mbit, but whatever, most cable doesn't hit that speed in the US, especially the up pipe. Their LTE network is pretty damn good.
Note, however, that unrooted, this won't go so well =p .
I also find, however, that T-Mobile's customer service to be...shaky, at best. They've directly lied to me more than once.

I have a rooted and modded Note 4 on Tmobile... please explain how I can manipulate it to get faster 4G LTE speeds... this makes no sense to me.

Also, considering you have a Note 4 you're lucky you're on T-Mobile. I also have a Note 4, but since I'm on Verizon I cannot root it. I can't believe root hasn't been obtained yet. And since it hasn't been obtained, it probably never will be since developer interest in the Note 4 is dwindling. From now on I'm sticking to Nexus devices or stock Android devices (e.g. Moto X Style). I'm strongly considering selling my Note 4 and buying the Moto X.

I never said anything about "manipulating" the LTE connection for faster service; that's entirely dependent on your hardware and the local tower(s). I got those speeds because that's how fast LTE was in the area, that simple.
CyanogenMod, however, lets me tether and/or use my phone as a "hotspot" as much as I like, while ignoring T-Mobile's asinine upsell blockage and data limits, making it practical to use as a home internet provider.
