Is there a way to allow my pc to read the contents of a hdd formatted by hd loader?

I think the ps2 runs on a linx filing system. You can use a program like hd dump or dumb over at www.ps2ownz.com. I'm still sketchy on how that works though. I think usb 2.0 external drive is what most people use to connect and hdl? dump is what they use for the two to communicate.
