hello a friend wants a pc builing with a good cpu .

the question is , is a 64bit athlon 3200 that much better than a athlon xp 3200 barton core .

what im getting at is a 64 bit cpu the way to go , or would the athlon xp 3200 offer the same performance .

Well really the 64bit is better, the 64 bit has that edge over the barton. In the future when alot of the 64bit programs come out it will benifit much more than the standard barton. If you have the money definetley go for the amd 64.
