I am trying RB with CCE SP2.67 as an alternative to DVD Shrink.
I have following the guide given on the website and started the 'transcode' option.
It goes away and does it's thing but it only creates a D2VAVS folder with the Avisynth files etc. It doesn't create the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folders with the VOB files. Can anyone help?

Did it give you an error code or just stop? It sounds like it's in 3-Click mode, except that if it was there would be 3 buttons and none of them would say Transcode. If you're using the most recent update to CCE SP you should also be aware that DVD-RB can't currently run it correctly because the format for ECL (CCE Settings) files has been changed and jdobbs has just been made aware of it.

I did not see an error code at nay time - didn't sit in front of the screen for 3-4 hours. Checked it periodically to make sure it was transcoding and it was creating the mv2 & av (?) files in D2VAVS folder. Next time I came back it had shut down. I downloaded CCE SP from the afterdawn site so perhaps that could be the problem. Where can I get the previous version from? and I'll try again.

I have tried CCE SP2.5 using 3 click mode. The preparation works fine. When I try to encode it does the first pass OK. About 1/3rd way through second pass it comes up with the error that the video files are different between passes (codes are not the same). This happens for each file segment. Also, at which point are the VIDEO_TS folders supposed to be created?

As I recall it, RB does not create the VIDEO_TS folder, you have to do it manually.
Your problem sounds to me as a hardware issue, maybe your memory gives errors. Try Memtest86+ to see if they are faultless.

BTW has it already turned out that exactly what caused RB to give the "Buffer overflow" error?

I did get CCE_SP 2.67 trial to work once. In 1-click mode it (RB) did create the VIDEO_TS folder itself. Than I kept getting the error during the second pass saying that the file serial number was not the same as the first pass. It carried on like this until about halfway through, then it just crashed.
I have since tried 2.50 trial and basic but am having problems with both.

system is AMD 1.0GHZ, 512MB RAM,32MB GeForce 2MX400. 80GB hard drive and XP Pro.
