i recently bought the magic swap, and tried to test it. I use the magic swap 3.0, and i made a copy of my ggxx game, i go through the standard way of loading with magic swap and everything seems find. but the problem is when i try to play the game(I get past the starting menu), i get stuck trying to load the stage. I'm not sure what's wrong here. My backup seems to be spinning but i don hear ps2 attempting to read the cd. I'm not sure if its the cd that's bad or the loading cd. because the swap magic seemed fine, it had the blue loading screen.

Also can someone explain why when i load a game with the swap magic 3. if i dont choose video mode ntsc, the screen goes completely red for a few secs.

As side from that can someone also tell me what goes wrong if swap magic has a red and purpleish bar appears on the top of the screen

What game are you trying? It is possible the game is so large the TOC of the disc you started with (which is still in memory) is lower than that of your copy and when it trys to read a file that is beyond the TOC it fails. If you have a game like MGS2 Substance you should try using that to update your TOC as I believe it is a dual layer game.

I think in swap magic, before you put in your backup, you put in a real game thats got a large toc by using the eject button. This way the system reads that toc in. Then you use the fliptop or slide card to switch to your backup and then hit start and perhaps it won't freeze or crash.

For my Swap Magic 3.2 CD, when a game boots I get a RED screen. When it fails I get that redish/purple/pink screen. The times it failed it was because of a bad SYSTEM.CNF.

Anyways, I wouldn't pay attension to the colors. It's really quite simple, if it works, it works, if it don't, it don't. Give it a couple of trys before ruling it is a bad copy.
