DVD-Rebuilder uses FieldDeinterlacer to deinterlace pure interlaced ntsc ( video segments ) and then encode them as interlaced ( alternate_scan=true ). It seems that, this DVD-Rebuilder uses "Forced Film" feature on these pure interlaced ntsc ( segments ) to bring down from the original 29.976 fps to 23.976 fps. Also contents that need to be IVTCed ( ones that are 80% or less FILM progressive ) are treated as FILM contents. And the hybrid contents ( 50% or so FILM and 50% or so NTSC interlaced ) are treated as pure interlaced contents. Now, if we use "Disable "Interlaced"" for a particular VTS_Set, this DVD-Rebuilder will encode every video segment ( AVS ) in that VTS_Set as progressive ( progressive=true ) without deinterlacing at all. And according to documentation of DVD-Rebuilder, ConvertToYUY2(interlaced=true) will result in some form of color shifting.

So pure interlaced NTSC 29.976 fps being "Forced Film" to 23.976 fps and being encoded as interlaced ( alternate_scan=true ) with ConvertToYUY2(interlaced=true).
