just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to play backed up games from the hd laoder ONLINE
and if it will work, is there any way that you cna get in trouble with sony, like will they trace the fact that its a backup and hunt you down?
basically, i sjut got the network adapter, and i installed the ps2 menu mem card exploit, so nwo i can boot hd loader or cogswap loader from my mem card
i am planning on getting a new hdd hopefully tomorrow, and then i can put most of my game sonto it
so is there any problem with palying backed up games online form the hdd???
i already ahev the software to copy the games to the hdd form my pc
i am jsut worried abotu getting caught or fined or whatver, you know???
I doubt they will catch you, but they could ban you if there are multiple disc ids online at the same time. Its not possible to play the games online via HDD. Yo ucan play online wit backup dvdr though.
i am onyl asking because i just attatched my pc's extra hdd to the network adapter, started up hd loader, and it said some errir message like, "no hard drive recognised" or soemthign liek that
so i was jsut wondering, is this JUST BECAUSE IT IS ALREADY BEEN FORMATTED??
when i but a new hdd it will come unformatted, so it shoudl work fine in my ps2 right??
It was probably a Seagate. A few people here have tried Seagates with no luck. It doesn't matter what format the drive was in before you install it into the PS2. If HD Loader recognizes it as a compatible drive it will offer to reformat it if necessary.
now i jsut pop in my psx disc, it boots ps2 menu from mem card, i start hd loader form there, then choose a game and paly it
it even plays my backups that i couldnt boot before, becaus eoif bad burns :)
like my kingdom hearts backup, i could never get past the first menu, i selected difficulty and vibration settigns, it asked me to continue, then froze
but now it works form hdd :)

also means no more game freezing due to scratched discs :)
