Two recent releases by columbia tristar entertainment are:
Tiptoes
3-way

Both of these dvds have an unusual toplevel structure-the toplevel consists of 2 folders named JACKET_P and VIDEO_TS . There are also 2 applications at the root level of the dvd - dvd-rom.exe and go.exe. There is also a file autorun.inf. On insertion , a macromedia application starts showing the statue of liberty lady from columbia tristar with 4 menu choices - play movie, newsletter, other dvds, and links. The only menu choice that does anything is the 'play' choice. This starts up my dvd player application , the dvd player logo appears but then nothing happens. It has not crashed because the menus are still accessible and you can quit the player. The computer is still functioning normally. Interestingly, these same dvds can not be read by dvddecrypter- that aplication errors out in an infinite loop of read errors.

However, these dvds can be read by a panasonic rp56 dvd player, a liteon dvd-rom and an xbox. So, it seems, this dvr-106d is flakey.
