Desoldering PS2 Slim anti-Static solder point

I have a PS2 slim that stopped reading disks. I bought a Soldering Iron, Desoldering Braid, and the new Laser. BUT i've never had to desolder anything before and could use some tips on how I'm supposed to do it. I watched a video that showed me everything i need, but cant find a video on how to desolder the new Laser anti-static solder point. I would take it to a repair shop but I dont live near one.
If someone could just tell me in detail how to Desolder the new laser or tell me where I can see a video or directions that would be great.
