hi bros
i have recently installed by an expert a Matrix infinity modchip on my ps2 90004 9a (new 2009 version without power supply outboard)it works fine and boots ps1 ,ps2 games ,dvds and mp3 BUT my problem is that when ps2 is off and i switch it on it boots and reads the burned games but when i reset it shows me "please insert a ps1 or 2 format cd " it is like there is no modchip installed and again when i put it in off mod and then switch on it work and sometimes it keeps switched on and doesn't want to go off untill i pull the plug out of the outlet

can anyone lend a hand thanks

check to see if your chip is in sleep mode,
sleep mode disables the chip after boot.

it might need a hard reset(power off/on) if it is in sleep mode.
to enable the chip.
there is also stealth mode which might be an issue.

i would check them first
