hi peeps, googled my tits off...no luck. ive modded a few ps2's...now have a bit of a wierd problem. installed modbo4.0 and ps2 will start to load software however after approx. 10 secs just goes to browser telling me that i have a ps2 disc inserted. tried taking out chip..tried replacing laser with no luck..just same problem. my only thought is this, we all know that the ps2 when it first gets switched on goes through that intial startup sequence...maybe because i modded it without having turned it on first i messed something up.....blown fuses maybe???? any ideas or thoughts much appreciated. cheers
smokyrain cheers loads for your help. No, i couldnt get to settings screen for chip, not even the matrix logo at startup. I think i must have damaged something during the chip install. I had expected to remove chip and everything would be roses...unfortunately not, i very carefully inspected mb for any naughty solder splashes etc, cant find anything visibly out of order. i had replaced laser with new one after having removed chip...no luck...these threads seem positive, i shall check them out. really really appreciate your help, cheers.
