PS2 SCHP-30004 won´t read DVD-R

Hello!

Bought a SCHP-30004 with a Messiah 2 chip mounted. Got with this a couple of games wich work perfectly. (burned on DVD-R).
But when i try to burn games myself like Guitar Hero to DVD-R using DVD decrypter,Alco 120% and CDXPburner none of the DVD-R work. all i get is Read error.
If i try to burn it into a DVD+R then the games starts but lags like h***.
I don´t have any trouble burning CD-R...works fine.
I have tried burn both slow 2x and 4x and still trouble...
The DVD-R i have is TDK and the DVD-R i got with the PS2 is Maxell..

please help...

If you burn DVD+R discs, you need to set the BOOKTYPE to DVD-ROM in imgburn or DVD-Decrypter
With some burners, these programs will do it automatically.
Some you have to set it yourself.

If your PS2 reads the Maxell with no problems, but not the TDK, then you may need to try another brand or buy Maxell.

That version PS2 is pretty old already and could also just be your laser needs cleaning or is slowly dying.

So you may just have to experiment a bit and waste a few discs to see what it likes best.
