Watching movies on USB using Unmodded Fat PS2 with Swap Disk Trick

Just wondering if I'm correct to assume the following:

Is it possible to use the Swap Disk trick (http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28441), where you copy an original PS2 game but change one .ELF file, to load up uLaunch.elf and SMS media player so I can watch .DivX from an USB stick?

If so, do I have to repeat the entire trick every time I want to watch a movie, or can it load onto the MemoryCard in a way so I won't have to swap the disks?

This is on an Unmodded original fat PS2
