Is there any way to softmod a ps2 SCPH-90004...if there is, please please tell me ... OR is there any alternative option to play downloaded ps2 games...
should be able to softmod it.just find a thread about softmodding or a tutorial and it should give you the instructions.if not PM someone that knows what they doing(not me) my ps2 is still stock.

I know I'm replying a little late, but the answer to your question is no, maybe yes. In your ps2 version sony stopped the ps2 from checking the memory card for boot files. That means that it wont find the softmod to load. Although some of the early 90004's still checked for boot files, so you might be in luck. The only way you can find out is to try the softmod. If it works, great. If not, too bad. I've got a slim thats got free mcboot 1.8 on its datel 16mb memory card. If you cant softmod your ps2, look into swapmagic. It can be used on any version of the ps2 to play backup games and load .ELF files.
