Help with Ps2 model BB Pack SCPH-50000 MB/NH

So i was just given a spare PS2 by one of my friends who left the country. its a japanese model BB Pack SCPH-50000 MB/NH which came with a built in HDD and ethernet port.

the dashboard on this is nothing like i have ever seen. reading it in japanese is not an issue, but it does NOT jump straight to the disc or memory card menu like most other Ps2s. its something i have never seen anywhere else.

so what i would like to do is simply to get nes snes and c64 stuff running on it. however i fear with the unusual dashboard i wont be able to. and also i do not know of any japan coded discs like action max.

so if anyone could help me in telling me step by step what to do i would be very greateful, if your a big help ill even send ya something from here, like a psn card (minus the insane and needless markup)
