PS2 has no screen though eveything remains ok

PPL!!!!! I have a PS2 SPCH-39001 but it was spoilt recently. The details are as below:
1]I was inserting a PS1 disc into it.
2]The system screen(where it shows yr memory cards and the unplayable disc, if you have inserted one)became faulty. The picture of the unplayable disc started flickering.
3]I resetted the system by pressing on the button in front with green light.
4]Then, the screen became black. Everything else was as per normal! (Eg: The lights of the buttons, the spinning of the disc and the cooling fan behind the PS2 console)
5]When I reset the system by pressing on the button in front with green light again, the screen was blue! (The AV2 screen of the TV)
Anyone knows how to fix it???????????? Your help is greatly appreciated!!!!
