i have a slim ps2 SCPH-70011 with all 3 sensors blocked, i bought swap magic cause i wanted to install free mcboot on my mem card and play dvd backups, i put the dvd in and it would take me to the browser with the dvd logo, i press x and it says no data in dvd or somthing like that, i triple checked on multiple non burnt games and they all work fine, so i borrow my friends ps2 and oddly enough swap magic worked on his ps2, so i install mcboot and i swap the mem cards to my ps2, everything looks good so i figured if i cant run swap magic mabe i can run esr patched dvds, so i patch the iso burn it pop it in turn on the ps2, esr logo comes out, screen blinks colors very slowly screen goes black....... nothing happens, i tried this on my friends ps2 and it worked just fine, any help appreciated
You have a V12 PS2, and its noted for the weak laser as the coils heat up and burn out the laser.
Just search V12 PS2 syndrome to know what I am talking about.
If everything works fine on your friends PS2, then I would say you either need to clean your laser or replace it.
Clean it with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol, not so its dripping
Clean in a circular motion for about 30 secs.
Then using dry end of q-tip, dry it for about 6-8 secs.
