i just wanted to post this cuz it made me really happy. I ordered a ps2 slim SSCHP 70012 off of ebay for 50 bucks. Now ebay can be hit or miss... Anyways i play backups so i installed my flip-top, and i use swap magic discs to boot the ps2 backups..

Anyways i was playing Residnet evil 4 and the loading screens took minutes longer than they should, and i read that this was the lens not reading correctly.. so i opened the bitch up, used some cotton and rubbing alcohol and gently cleaned off the lens and blew on it to get it to dry very quickly. VOILA it actually worked! and has worked ever since...

Now the only other issue was that it would not read memory cards! so i figured, hell if dust and dirt was the problem with the lens, maybe this needs a cleanse. So i was finally able to get some Dust-off, sprayed really well into the memory card slots to get the dust out.... and guess what, it worked!!!

So 2 quick fixes have made my ps2 sooo much better. the ps2 is infamous for its dust collecting and being prone to problmes cuz of this. However if u do a few cleaning techniques u can restore ur ps2 to glory.
